About the Whittington Insurance Team and Our Services
The Whittington Team began operation of an insurance agency on September 8, 1998 in Duluth, Georgia. In October of 2000, the agency acquired the agency of Suzanne Bryant and merged it in with existing clients. The office was relocated then to Buford, Georgia near the Mall of Georgia. In July 2003, we re-opened a second location in Duluth near Gwinnett Place Mall.
Agency Principals Biographies
Chuck Whittington
Chuck holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from Brenau University. These degrees were completed while working full-time for the Eaton Corporation in Athens, Georgia. In 1997, he joined the Oracle Corporation as a business and software consultant and began traveling for work. Chuck continued as a consultant for KPMG, NetVendor and e-Waken Technologies. He began his insurance career in the spring of 2001.
While continuing in consulting he obtained his property and casualty agent’s license and began working in the agency occasionally with Kelly. In the summer of 2003, he purchased the agency of James Conner in Duluth and re-opened the Duluth location of The Whittington Team. Also in 2003 he obtained his life and health agent’s license. Chuck is a member of Business Network International, Prospect United Methodist Church and United Methodist Men. Chuck is also an Assistant Coach for his daughter’s T-ball team at Dacula Park.

Kelly Whittington
Kelly began her insurance career in 1985 while working part time at an insurance agency throughout high school. Upon graduation in 1986, she continued working part time in an agency in Decatur, Georgia throughout college. After graduating from the University of Georgia in 1990 she began working for Taurus Insurance Agency as a personal lines customer service representative. She obtained her property and casualty license in 1991. In 1993, she switched her focus to commercial lines insurance working at Sedgwick, Inc. (now known as Marsh, Inc.). She worked in various areas including small commercial accounts, financial services and risk management sized accounts. In 1997, she completed her Certified Insurance Counselor Designation. After receiving her life insurance license, she opened The Whittington Agency in September 1998. Kelly is Past-President of the North Gwinnett Chapter of American Business Women’s Association and the 2005-2006 Woman of the Year for ABWA. She is also a member of the Gwinnett Charter Chapter of American Business Women’s Association, the National Association of Women Business Owners and Prospect United Methodist Church.
